Tennessee Titans vs Jacksonville Jaguars Match Player Stats (Jan 4, 2026)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdown passes and broke the Jacksonville franchise record for total touchdowns in a season as the Jaguars demolished Tennessee 41-7 on January 4, securing the AFC South championship in front of 66,015 at EverBank Stadium.

The 34-point margin represented the most lopsided victory in series history. Lawrence finished 22-of-30 for 255 yards, pushing his season total to 38 touchdowns (29 passing, nine rushing) to surpass Blake Bortles’ 2015 mark of 37. The Jaguars extended their winning streak to eight games and improved to 13-4, earning the AFC’s No. 3 seed and a wild card matchup against Buffalo.

Quarterback Shines in Championship Clincher

Lawrence picked apart Tennessee’s depleted secondary after a sluggish opening possession, connecting with Brenton Strange, Parker Washington and Quintin Morris for scores. He reached 4,007 passing yards for the season, marking the third time in his career he’s eclipsed 4,000 yards.

The quarterback played into the fourth quarter before exiting to a standing ovation following a 23-yard completion to Washington. His teammates presented him with a diamond-covered mouth grille in the locker room afterward, mimicking an AI-generated image that had circulated on social media weeks earlier.

“It’s just been awesome this year with the team and just how close we are,” Lawrence said.

Strange caught six passes for 52 yards and a touchdown. “He has done it over his career and is doing it at a super high level right now,” Strange said of Lawrence. “He is a great leader for our team.”

Little Boots Record Field Goal

Cam Little connected on a 67-yard field goal as time expired in the second half, giving him the two longest field goals in NFL history in the same season. The kick eclipsed Justin Tucker’s 66-yarder from 2021 and stands as the longest outdoor field goal ever made.

Little had set the overall record with a 68-yard boot at Las Vegas in November. He finished 2-for-2 on field goals and converted all five extra points, continuing a stretch of 19 consecutive makes following Jacksonville’s bye week.

Defense Forces Turnovers, Dominates Line

Antonio Johnson intercepted Brandon Allen’s third-down pass over the middle in the second quarter and returned it 58 yards for a touchdown, giving Jacksonville a 21-0 lead. The interception was the team’s 22nd of the season, breaking the franchise record set in 2017.

Dawuane Smoot recorded Jacksonville’s only sack, while the defensive front limited Tennessee to 77 rushing yards on 19 carries. The Titans converted just four of 14 third-down attempts and managed 194 total yards.

Foyesade Oluokun led the defense with eight tackles.

Ward Injured on Opening Drive

Tennessee rookie Cam Ward scrambled for a seven-yard touchdown on the game’s opening possession but landed hard on his right shoulder. He returned to the sideline wearing a sling and didn’t play again.

Allen replaced Ward and completed 17 of 30 passes for 72 yards with the pick-six. Tennessee punted five times and failed to score after the opening drive.

“It was really one thing after another,” Allen said. “When you get a couple three-and-outs in a row, it’s tough for momentum to build.”

Tony Pollard led Tennessee with 48 rushing yards on 14 carries. Elic Ayomanor caught three passes for 50 yards in the loss.

Playoff Picture Set

Jacksonville claimed its third division championship in nine years and topped 12 wins for just the second time in franchise history. The victory secured a home playoff game against the Bills, who finished 12-5.

First-year coach Liam Coen guided the Jaguars to 13 wins after the team went 4-13 the previous season, joining the 2025 Patriots and 1999 Colts as the only teams to win 13 or more games after losing 13 or more the year before.

“Today is the biggest game in franchise history because it’s the next one,” Coen said. “That’s been the mindset and mentality of this group.”

Tennessee finished 3-14 for the second consecutive season under interim coach Mike McCoy, who went 2-9 after replacing Brian Callahan in mid-October. The Titans began their search for a new head coach following the loss.

Season-Ending Injuries

Tennessee guards Kevin Zeitler (quadriceps) and Corey Levin (biceps) left the game and didn’t return. Jacksonville left tackle Cole Van Lanen, who signed a three-year extension during the week, injured his right knee in the fourth quarter. Cornerback Greg Newsome II and receiver Brian Thomas Jr. left for evaluations but returned to action.

The Jaguars swept Tennessee for the third time in four seasons, outscoring the Titans 82-17 across two meetings. Lawrence threw seven touchdown passes with no interceptions against Tennessee in 2025, cementing his mastery of the division rival while carrying Jacksonville into the postseason on an eight-game winning streak that had the entire AFC taking notice.
